Inauguration of the 2024-2025 academic year at the Kongo University of Mbanza-Ngungu: A new chapter of excellence and ambition

Fatshimetrie, October 7, 2024 – Kongo University in Mbanza-Ngungu recently inaugurated the 2024-2025 academic year in a climate of hope and ambition. The rector of this prestigious institution, Prof. Germain Kuna Mabar, stressed the importance of this new year for the approximately two thousand new students who began it with great enthusiasm.

In his opening speech, the rector encouraged students to be determined, serious and to avoid harmful influences. He reminded the privileged audience that not everyone has the chance to access university, and that those who have the opportunity must seize this opportunity with enthusiasm and commitment.

The inaugural lecture, delivered by Prof. Bernard Lututala, Honorary Rector of Kongo University, highlighted the challenges facing higher education in the Democratic Republic of Congo, particularly the issue of the proliferation of institutions.

The ceremony ended solemnly with the presentation of the gown to the new Doctor of Economics, Gloire Musensa, a symbolic moment that illustrates the hard work and success of Kongo University students.

Kongo University, with its diverse faculties such as economics, law, information sciences, medicine, polytechnic, architecture, agronomy, social, political and administrative sciences, continues to play a crucial role in training future leaders and professionals in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
