During the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly, Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel-Ati strongly condemned the Israeli aggression in Lebanon. He recalled that Egypt has made intense efforts to play a mediating role with Qatar and the United States to resolve the conflict, but Israel has obstructed these efforts for several months.
In addition, the Egyptian Foreign Minister stressed that his country will continue to assume its responsibilities in the humanitarian response to the crises affecting its region, which led Egypt to become the third country in the world in terms of asylum applications in 2023. However, he stressed that there are limits to the burdens that Egypt can bear.
