Governor Chukwuma Soludo introduces free education for senior secondary students in Anambra

Governor Chukwuma Soludo recently made a major announcement regarding education in Anambra State. In a meeting with Headmasters of Primary and Secondary Schools in public institutions, he said that Senior Secondary School students would now enjoy free education. This is in continuation of his Tuition Free Education Policy, initiated in September 2023, which established free education from nursery to junior secondary school, with a fee of only N5,000 for junior secondary school students.

The new measure is aimed at increasing access to education for all children in Anambra State and fostering the holistic development of their personality, talents, mental and physical capacities. Governor Soludo pledged to devote considerable efforts to realizing his campaign promises and investing in the human capital of the state.

Another important announcement made by Governor Soludo is the introduction of the N70,000 minimum wage for workers, which will come into effect from October. This measure is aimed at improving the living conditions of workers and students in Anambra State, while enhancing access to quality education for all.
