Fatshimetrie Headlines: The dynamite explosion near the State House in Port Harcourt has caused shock and confusion in the area. The incident, which occurred during a protest against the tenure of local council chairmen, has highlighted the tensions and challenges facing the community.
According to information relayed by local authorities, Preye Josiah, a long-wanted individual, is believed to have been involved in the explosion. The latter, who hails from Kabiama community, allegedly used an improvised explosive device along the Port Harcourt-Aba axis. His act allegedly resulted in serious injuries, forcing him to go to the hospital for treatment.
The revelations made by investigators reveal a troubled past for Josiah, with a history of involvement in armed robberies between 2012 and 2016, including major bank robberies organized by one Daniel Gogo, nicknamed Full Payment. Josiah has reportedly been identified as the explosive detonation expert of the robbery gang and an active member of the Viking Brotherhood.
The ongoing investigation is aimed at identifying Josiah’s accomplices and sponsors, in order to shed light on this tragedy and bring those responsible to justice. In addition, another attack recently targeted the headquarters of the Peoples Party of Action (PPA) in the GRA Phase II area of Port Harcourt. Two individuals allegedly placed and detonated an explosive device in front of the building, causing significant material damage.
The authorities are mobilizing to ensure the safety of citizens and protect democratic institutions in the region. While these criminal acts are legitimately a cause for concern, it is essential that the community remains united and supportive in the face of such threats. Enhanced security measures and close cooperation between the security forces and the population are necessary to prevent further incidents and ensure peace and stability in Port Harcourt.
