Egyptian government vows to strengthen local auto industry with expansion of Nissan Motor Egypt

In a recent meeting, Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly discussed the expansion of automobile manufacturing with Nissan Motor Egypt. With an investment of $55.9 million by 2026, Nissan aims to strengthen its position in the Egyptian market. The government supports the localization of the automobile industry and encourages the development of different industrial sectors. Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly recently held an important meeting with representatives of Nissan Motor Egypt to discuss the expansion of local manufacturing in the country. This strategic meeting was an opportunity for the company to present its investment plan of around $55.9 million by 2026. This plan aims to strengthen its leadership position in the Egyptian market and consolidate its presence in the automotive sector.

During the meeting, which was also attended by Minister of Industry and Transport Kamel al-Wazir and Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Hassan al-Khatib, Mostafa Madbouly warmly welcomed the company representatives and praised the remarkable technological advances at Nissan’s plant in Egypt.

The Prime Minister stressed the need to continue developing the automotive industry in Egypt, including the establishment of the Supreme Council for the Automotive Industry and the incentives put in place to support this sector.

Kamel al-Wazir reaffirmed the state’s commitment to localizing industry, stressing the establishment of a program to overcome obstacles and promote work in different industrial sectors.

The government’s goal is clear: to encourage the expansion of various industries and support manufacturers of Egyptian products by providing raw materials and production inputs.

Nissan Egypt General Manager Mohamed Abdel-Samad revealed the company’s ambitions to consolidate its leading position in the Egyptian market. He announced that the parent company, Nissan, is currently studying the proposal of the Minister of Industry to establish a technical school affiliated with the company in Egypt. Approval was given to begin studying the project in collaboration with the relevant authorities.

This meeting demonstrates the commitment of the Egyptian government and companies such as Nissan Motor Egypt to strengthen local industry, create job opportunities and promote the country’s economic development. This is a crucial step in achieving the goals of growth and prosperity for Egypt and its people.
