CNSS Open Days in Kinshasa: Strengthening the social protection of Congolese workers

Kinshasa, July 26, 2024 – The National Social Security Fund (CNSS) of the Democratic Republic of Congo recently closed two open days in Kinshasa, highlighting the management of family benefits and the electronic declaration of employers’ social security contributions. These days played a crucial role in raising awareness among employers and workers on the importance of contributing to ensure adequate social protection.

During these days, the emphasis was placed on the need to facilitate the electronic declaration of social security contributions, a process that allows employers to submit their declarations electronically, thus simplifying administrative procedures. This initiative aims to encourage employers to be in compliance with the CNSS, thus ensuring better support for workers in terms of family allowances and social benefits.

The general management of the CNSS expressed its willingness to strengthen collaboration with its partners, by collecting their grievances and suggestions during these open days. This feedback is essential to improve the services offered by the fund and ensure better social coverage for all workers.

The progress made by the CNSS in the field of social coverage was highlighted during these days, highlighting the institution’s desire to work for the well-being of workers and their families. Educational sessions were organized to inform participants of the benefits of contributing to the CNSS, emphasizing the importance of preparing for the future by benefiting from solid social protection.

Sylvain Lopeler, an employer in the agricultural sector, testified to the importance of contributing to the CNSS to guarantee their future financial security. He encouraged his peers to join the fund to benefit from the services offered and ensure their peace of mind in the long term.

The open days were launched in the presence of important personalities such as Doctor Romain Muboyayi, Chief of Staff of the Minister of Health, Hygiene and Social Security, and Charles Mudiayi, Director General of the CNSS. These events helped to strengthen the links between the CNSS and its various partners, in a concern for transparency and continuous improvement of the services offered.

In conclusion, the open days organized by the CNSS were a success, highlighting the importance of the management of family benefits and the electronic declaration of social contributions. These initiatives aim to guarantee better social protection for all Congolese workers and to strengthen confidence in the country’s social security system.
