Canal+ Impact: A Societal Revolution in the Democratic Republic of Congo

Fatshimetrie, a new concept serving Congolese news, recently emerged in the media of the Democratic Republic of Congo. This innovative concept aims to dissect the political, social and cultural events of the country, highlighting the different angles and nuances that compose them.

One of the major topics covered by Fatshimetrie is the launch by Canal+ RDC of the solidarity program “Canal+ Impact” in Africa. This initiative, initiated by the Canal+ Group in Africa, aims to strengthen Canal+ RDC’s societal commitment to the Congolese through three key initiatives.

First, the Canal+ University program offers professional training in the audiovisual and cinema sector, allowing participants to develop their skills and expertise. By promoting skills development, this platform contributes to the emergence of new talents in the field.

Then, the Orphée project aims to facilitate access to education and entertainment for all vulnerable children. By equipping childcare facilities with television decoder kits, Canal+ RDC allows young people to benefit from free educational and entertainment programs, while offering enriching cultural activities.

Finally, the “1 month, 1 cause” initiative involves Canal+ RDC in solidarity actions and awareness campaigns conducted in collaboration with NGOs and focusing on major societal causes such as public health, environmental protection, gender equality and the fight against discrimination. This partnership between Canal+ RDC and non-governmental organizations helps raise public awareness of the important issues facing Congolese society.

During the launch of Canal+ Impact, the General Director of Canal+ RDC, Mireille Kabamba, stressed the importance of this program for Congolese society. She highlighted Canal+ DRC’s commitment to emerging talent, Africa and the DRC in particular, as well as the desire to accelerate societal and responsible commitments by supporting the creative and cultural industries.

Testimonials from beneficiaries also illustrated the positive impact of the actions carried out under the Canal+ Impact program. Audiovisual professionals were able to benefit from enriching training, allowing them to improve their skills and go further in their careers.

In short, the Canal+ Impact program is part of a process of social responsibility and promotion of education, culture and civic engagement in the Democratic Republic of Congo. It is a concrete example of the importance of business involvement in the social and economic development of the country.
