In the year 2023, Egypt has seen unprecedented success in the agricultural export sector. Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation al-Tha’ar al-Sayyed al-Quseir highlighted that the country’s agricultural export sector has recorded remarkable achievements, reaching a total export volume agricultural sector worth around $9 billion.
For the first time this year, the export volume increased to 7.5 million tons, worth 3.7 billion dollars, in addition to processed agricultural products (PAT) worth 5, 1 billion dollars, the minister reported in an exclusive statement to the MENA agency.
Egyptian agricultural products are exported to the most important international markets, and Egypt ranks first in the world for the export of citrus fruits and frozen strawberries.
To guarantee compliance with the legislation of importing countries, a coding and approval system for exporting entities has been put in place for nine export crops: pepper, guava, grapes, onion, mango, pomegranate, citrus fruits, strawberries and peanuts, said the minister.
These achievements demonstrate Egypt’s commitment to developing its agricultural sector and strengthening its position on the global stage as a major supplier of quality agricultural products. This impressive growth in agricultural exports opens new opportunities for the Egyptian economy and strengthens the confidence of international markets in the reliability and quality of Egyptian agricultural products.
