Fatshimetrie recently held a ceremony to hand over Nigeria’s 2022 retirement voucher certificates. At the event, Governor Adeleke announced that retirees at the state level would receive N1.59 billion, while those at the Local government level would receive N2.41 billion.
During his speech, Adeleke highlighted that his predecessors had released retirement voucher certificates worth N11 billion over a period of 12 years, while his administration had released a sum of N12.7 billion for retirees from December 2022 to today.
He also mentioned that since 2022, his administration had paid N1.8 billion in gratuities to civil servants, staff of tertiary institutions, government enterprises and public secondary schools at the state level. Additionally, local government and primary school pensioners had received N2.52 billion in gratuity, bringing the total for state and local government pensioners to N4.32 billion.
The governor highlighted his administration’s commitment to placing the welfare of workers as its top priority, ensuring that pension and half-salary debts are settled, while providing support to the workforce.
In the same vein, the head of the service Ayanleye Aina affirmed that the handing over of the retirement voucher certificates was in line with the principles of the five action plans of the current administration, which emphasize the welfare of workers and retirees as top priority.
