The security of citizens in danger in Kisangani: the urgent appeal of Monsignor Ndjate

Since the beginning of the current year, the city of Kisangani, located in the province of Tshopo, has been the scene of several cases of armed robberies, causing great concern among the local population. These criminal acts, often accompanied by violence against residents, alarmed Monsignor Léonard Ndjadi Ndjate, auxiliary bishop of the archdiocese of Kisangani, who recently expressed his indignation at the increase in these incidents.

In a poignant statement to Fatshimetrie, Monsignor Ndjate launched an urgent appeal to provincial, urban and communal authorities to take immediate measures to guarantee the safety of citizens. He also questions the origins of this violence, raising the issue of youth unemployment and the possible complicity of certain actors in these repeated crimes.

“We cannot remain indifferent to this alarming situation. The authorities must act quickly and effectively to protect the population and put an end to these heinous acts,” underlined Monsignor Ndjate.

The religious also called for the vigilance of all residents of the Tshopo commune and encouraged them to report any suspicious behavior to the competent authorities. He stressed the importance of identifying individuals involved in these criminal acts and warned of the growing risk of violence in the region.

In conclusion, Monsignor Léonard Ndjadi Ndjate urged the political-administrative authorities to take concrete measures to ensure the security of the citizens of the Tshopo commune and other districts of the city of Kisangani. He stressed the urgency of acting collectively to preserve peace and stability in the region, and called for solidarity and cooperation of all actors involved in the fight against crime.

Faced with this critical situation, it is imperative that the authorities take rapid and effective measures to protect citizens and restore peace and security in Kisangani.
