Restoring peace and unity in Dimbelenge: A call for collaboration and reconciliation

The territory of Dimbelenge, in the province of Kasaï-Central, was recently the scene of violent clashes between the inhabitants of the Bena Koma and Basonge Babembele groups. These unrest caused the death of four people and the destruction of more than sixty homes, plunging the region into turmoil.

Faced with this escalation of violence, the territorial administrator, Timothée Kasongo, hastened to take measures to restore order and peace in the region. Strengthening the presence of law enforcement, raising awareness among the entities of the groups concerned of the importance of unity and calm, and encouraging collaboration between local authorities are all actions undertaken to restore serenity.

Timothée Kasongo rightly points out that without peace, the economic and social development of the region will be compromised. Investments, agriculture and the well-being of residents are closely dependent on stability and security.

Beyond the immediate measures taken to ease tensions, it is essential to initiate a constructive and lasting dialogue between the different parties involved in the land conflict, involving the judicial authorities to guarantee justice and reparation for the harm suffered by the victims.

The call for unity and collaboration launched by the territorial administrator is an invitation to transcend differences and conflicts to build together a more harmonious and prosperous future for all. The peaceful resolution of disputes and respect for everyone’s rights are the foundations of a just and balanced society.

In conclusion, the crisis that shook Dimbelenge must be a wake-up call to strengthen conflict prevention mechanisms and promote dialogue and consultation as preferred means of resolving disputes. Peace and unity are essential values to preserve to ensure a better future for all the inhabitants of the region.
