As part of the edition of Fatshimetrie dated April 9, 2024, a major event is currently taking place in Gabon: the Inclusive National Dialogue (DNI). This event, which brings together no less than 676 participants, began its effective work phase on Monday April 8. After some logistical difficulties in the introduction, the various commissions got to work, debating and analyzing the various issues to be addressed for the future of post-transition Gabon.

The atmosphere of study and reflection reigns in all work spaces, as our correspondent Yves-Laurent Goma reports from Libreville. The participants take a serious look at the issues in order to diagnose sectoral problems and formulate lasting solutions for the reconstruction of Gabon.

Sylvain Mayabith, from the National Organization of Petroleum Employees, actively participates in the subcommittee dealing with the Labor Code. Its objective is clear: to put an end to precarious employment, stop short-term contracts and strengthen compliance with the Labor Code through strict application.

Another participant, former presidential candidate Joachim Pambo Mbatchi, contributes to the discussions of the public works commission. For him, “Gabon is a country that needs to be remade”, and this involves in particular road construction projects aimed at connecting the entire national territory and promoting accessibility to the different regions.

At the end of the day, the Archbishop of Libreville, Monsignor Jean Patrick Iba-ba, and his office visited the various commissions to ensure the smooth running of the debates. Training, politics, institutions, elections: so many crucial subjects addressed in this inclusive National Dialogue which aims to bring major reforms for the future of Gabon.

Professor Noël Boundzanga, head of the political commission, recognizes the pressure weighing on participants regarding the challenges of future reforms. He underlines the importance of respecting the texts resulting from the debates to ensure a successful democratic transition.

In short, the Inclusive National Dialogue in Gabon is a key moment for the country, where political, social and economic actors are mobilizing to build a better future. The debates promise to be intense, but the hope of a positive transformation and a consensus is emerging through the various discussions.

This process of dialogue and collective reflection is essential to lay the foundations for a new era in Gabon, marked by stability, social justice and sustainable development. There is no doubt that the conclusions and proposals resulting from this DNI will have a significant impact on the future of the Gabonese nation.
