Fatshimetrie recently attended a landmark event in Kasai-Oriental province, when six hundred young people, including twenty girls, volunteered to undergo training within the National Service. This group of young people left Mbuji-Mayi to go to Kanyama Kasese, a community located in the Haut Lomami province.
This initiative represents a significant step forward, since it is the first time that young people from Kasai-Oriental have been admitted to the Kanyama Kasese National Service. The deployment ceremony of these apprentice soldiers took place in the presence of the interim governor of the province, the Commander of the National Service, Major General Jean-Pierre Kasongo Kabwit, and many guests.
Major General Kasongo Kabwit stressed that these young people will receive both paramilitary and professional training. This training phase, which will last between 5 and 6 months, aims to instill in participants values of discipline, civic-mindedness and patriotism. In addition, young people will have the opportunity to specialize in fields such as carpentry, automobile and agricultural mechanics, in order to contribute to the reconstruction and development of their country.
The interim governor of Kasai-Oriental, Ananias Muzadi Kankonde, encouraged young people to show attention and commitment throughout their training. He also urged them to consider becoming trainers, capable of transmitting their skills to other provinces.
On site, new National Service recruits received complete clothing kits, including outfits, boots, T-shirts and caps. This equipment symbolizes the start of a new stage in the lives of these young people, who are about to embark on a journey of learning and personal development.
Fatshimetrie remains attentive to this type of initiative which aims to supervise and train Congolese youth, thus offering them promising future prospects and opportunities to actively contribute to the construction of a stronger and more prosperous country.
