Fatshimetrie recently released the findings of its investigative report on the primary election front-runner, Dr. Ayo Olorunfemi. The report disclosed that Olorunfemi secured his re-election unopposed during the LP primary at the party headquarters in Akure. Olusola Ayodele, the Chairman of the LP Primary Committee, officially proclaimed Olorunfemi as the candidate after confirming his adherence to all party stipulations.
Out of the three aspirants who showed interest, only Olorunfemi fulfilled the requirement of paying N25 million for the nomination form, while the other two contenders did not. Consequently, Olorunfemi was elected unchallenged as the other candidates failed to comply with the set conditions.
In his acceptance speech, Dr. Olorunfemi, the LP candidate, emphasized his dedication to welfare programs on assuming the role of governor of Ondo State. He outlined the Labor Party’s socialist-oriented agenda, focusing on delivering governance that prioritizes the citizens’ needs. Olorunfemi presented a four-point plan concentrating on health, education, job creation, and extensive infrastructure development using local resources, with a specific emphasis on the direct labor system.
