Eight Congolese judokas are set to represent the Democratic Republic of Congo at the upcoming African Championship in Cairo, Egypt, from April 25 to 28. This delegation comprises five men and three women led by their coach, totaling nine representatives from the DRC ready to compete on the African stage.
The championship will host 94 judokas from 33 countries across Africa, promising a fierce and thrilling competition. The primary objective for these athletes is to secure qualification for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, scheduled from July 26 to August 11.
Their recent success at the Luanda Open in Angola earlier in April, where they clinched two silver and two bronze medals, has boosted the confidence of the Congolese Judo Leopards ahead of their participation in the African Championship.
