Political tensions intensify in Kano: Northern Patriots openly criticize Governor Abba Yusuf

Political tensions in Kano State have escalated, with the Northern Patriots expressing dissatisfaction with Governor Abba Yusuf. The group, led by Comrade Dominic Alancha, criticized the governor for focusing excessively on his predecessor rather than prioritizing good governance.

Alancha pointed out the lack of significant achievements during Yusuf’s 11 months in office and urged him to concentrate on effective policies and economic development. The group emphasized the need for transparency and accountability in any investigations into the previous government.

The involvement of former Governor Ganduje’s family in the political conflict was strongly condemned. Alancha highlighted that family members who do not hold public positions should not be drawn into personal feuds. Additionally, appointments of individuals close to the governor to influential positions raised concerns about nepotism.

Alancha called on Yusuf to concentrate on fulfilling his governance mandate and refrain from engaging in futile political vendettas. The group asserted that pursuing Ganduje was unlikely to succeed based on previous court rulings and jurisdictional limits, stressing the importance of governance and accountability over personal conflicts.

The criticisms from the Northern Patriots underscore the growing political tensions in Kano and emphasize the necessity of transparent and accountable governance for genuine development in the state.
