Leader of the renowned group Bana OK, Lutumba Simaro has left behind a musical heritage brimming with emotion and poetic lyricism. His timeless compositions like “Fifi nazali innocent,” “Mabele,” and “Maya” have etched a profound mark in the annals of Congolese music with their depth and sensitivity.
In addition to his musical prowess, Lutumba Simaro was revered for his humility and modesty. He valued the feedback and advice of those around him, drawing inspiration from a simple, music-loving neighbor whose wisdom and life philosophy often influenced his musical creations.
The repatriation of Lutumba Simaro’s remains to Kinshasa served as an occasion for numerous political figures, including President Félix Tshisekedi, to offer him a final tribute. This gesture underscores the enduring and profound impact that Lutumba Simaro had on Congolese culture and society.
