In the field of higher education in the Democratic Republic of Congo, the transition to the LMD system (Bachelor’s, Master’s, Doctorate) has given rise to numerous debates and questions. The Higher Institute of Business Management Informatics (ISIGE) of Kindu recently organized a conference-debate aimed at clarifying the new methods of evaluating teachers and learners in this system.

At the end of this meeting, an important recommendation was made: the need for teachers to fully master the ins and outs of this innovative system. It is crucial that course content is standardized across all universities across the country to ensure effective application of the LMD system.

Project manager Auguster Shindano stressed the importance of continuing training for teachers to master new aspects of assessment. Indeed, the changes introduced by the LMD system, in particular the introduction of a feedback system where students also evaluate teachers, require an adaptation and evolution of teaching practices.

Participants, and particularly teachers at the conference, committed to improving their assessment methods. This awareness highlights the need for constant evolution in the field of higher education to adapt to the new demands of the LMD system.

In conclusion, this conference highlighted the importance of continuing training for teachers and the harmonization of practices within the framework of the LMD system. This initiative demonstrates the desire of higher education stakeholders in the DRC to adapt to new standards and guarantee quality assessment for students.
