“Democratizing contemporary art: When the H Foundation in Madagascar inspires the creativity of young generations”

As part of its Hay Program, the H Foundation in Madagascar is committed to democratizing access to contemporary art by opening its doors to public schools in the Antananarivo region. Every morning, before the influx of visitors, 9th grade classes come to discover this unique artistic universe.

During a recent visit, students were invited to an artistic workshop inspired by the work of renowned weaver, Madame Zo. In the courtyard of Foundation H, the children enthusiastically began creating their own woven works, in the style of the artist.

This workshop provided students with an enriching experience, inviting them to explore their creativity and immerse themselves in the artistic process. Inspired by Madame Zo’s work, the children discovered weaving techniques while giving free rein to their imagination.

This initiative by Fondation H demonstrates its commitment to raising awareness and training younger generations in contemporary art, while encouraging artistic expression and the discovery of new forms of creation. Through artistic interventions like this, students can develop their aesthetic sensitivity and ability to express themselves through art.

By allowing students to access inspiring and educational artistic activities, Fondation H contributes to broadening the horizons of young people and nourishing their artistic curiosity. This approach to democratizing art offers students the opportunity to explore new forms of expression and develop their imagination, while promoting a fun and educational approach to contemporary culture.

Beyond simple artistic discovery, these workshops offer children the chance to connect to a creative universe and explore the multiple facets of contemporary art. By encouraging exploration and creativity, Foundation H opens doors to an artistic world rich in possibilities and inspiration for the young generations of Madagascar.
