“REGIDESO S.A. announces the creation of a local manufacturing plant for pipes and plumbing accessories: a major turning point for the Congolese public company”

The public company REGIDESO S.A. recently made an important announcement regarding the imminent construction of its own manufacturing plant for pipes and plumbing accessories. This factory, which will see the light of day in the Maluku pilot special economic zone in Kinshasa, marks a strategic step for the company.

Indeed, by settling in this new space, REGIDESO becomes the first Congolese company owned by the State to invest in a special economic zone. This decision is part of a desire to improve the quality of its services by locally producing plumbing accessories to renew its water pipe network.

This initiative will not only have a positive impact on the quality of services offered by REGIDESO, but it will also reduce costs linked to imports, create local jobs and promote the economic development of the country. In addition, by producing its own pipes and accessories, the company will be able to extend its services to previously unserved regions, thus providing access to drinking water to a larger part of the Congolese population.

The general director of REGIDESO, David Mutombo, is enthusiastic about the potential benefits of this new factory. He emphasizes that this is part of the company’s development strategy and that in addition to the economic benefits, it will contribute to strengthening the appreciation of the national currency.

Construction work on the factory is expected to begin soon, once the financial package is finalized and board approval has been obtained. This initiative marks a crucial step in the evolution of REGIDESO and opens the way to new opportunities for development and improvement of its services on a national scale.
