In a recent press release, the IPOB group, through its spokesperson, Emma Powerful, called on Biafrans not to join the anti-poverty protests in Nigeria. The group stressed that the current difficult situation in Nigeria must be the concern of Nigerians and not Biafrans.
IPOB has warned that any protest demonstrations held in Biafraland could endanger the Igbo ethnic group. The statement highlights the injustices suffered by the Ndigbos, including abuse, intimidation and violence perpetrated against them during elections.
The pro-Biafra group is encouraging Ndigbos to leave the burden of the economic crisis to Nigerians, saying it is divine punishment for crimes committed against Biafrans in the past. While recognizing the economic hardships faced by the Ndigbos, IPOB stresses that God is watching over them and the fight for freedom continues.
The message emphasizes that Biafrans must use wisdom to navigate through current challenges, while expressing concern for the suffering of other tribes.
This call for restraint and caution underscores IPOB’s strong stance on the economic situation in Nigeria and highlights their commitment to the independence struggle.
