Young nationals of the Kasaï-Central province, residing in Kinshasa and members of the non-profit organization Buena Muntu, are making their voices heard to defend the interests of their region. In a press release released recently, these young people call on the provincial deputies of Kasai-Central to prioritize the needs of the population during the elections of governors and senators.
They greet the newly elected representatives of the province and urge them to only consider the best interests of Kasai-Central in the choice of governors and senators. They also want the involvement of President Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi for the realization of crucial projects underway in the region, such as the modernization of the Kananga-Kalamba Mbuji road, the construction of the Mbombo waterfall and the national road number 1 between Kananga and Mbuji-Mayi.
Henriette Kanyinda, spokesperson for the ASBL Buena Muntu, underlines how stopping work on these projects constitutes an obstacle to the development of Kasaï-Central. The young members of the association also express their opposition to any attempt to disrupt the electoral process in their province.
To illustrate this mobilization, images of young demonstrators from the ASBL Buena Muntu in action in Kinshasa to defend the interests of their province could underline the commitment of this youth in favor of beneficial development for the entire population of the Kasai-Central.
