In a recent event, Mustapha made the appeal during the meeting with members of the Agbarere Development Association, a socio-political group, last Sunday in Abuja. The MP urged Nigerians to refrain from destructive criticism of Tinubu and other leaders in the face of current economic challenges.

He stressed that criticizing the country’s leadership over the current difficulties would in no way resolve the situation, but would make it worse.

“I would like to appeal to Nigerians from all walks of life, regardless of faith or ethnicity, to refrain from destructive criticism of President Tinubu and other leaders at all levels of governance.

“No matter the circumstances, we must refrain from cursing our leaders, because the power of words can either hurt or heal.

“Therefore, the country’s situation will only get worse if we continue to criticize them negatively without offering solutions,” Mustapha said.

While acknowledging the current economic challenges, Mustapha said President Tinubu and other leaders were working tirelessly to address the challenges.

“I admit that the country is facing unprecedented socio-economic and security challenges.

“But it’s not enough for some people to take advantage of this to insult our leaders.

“As our leaders strive to resolve the country’s challenges, our responsibility as citizens is to pray for them and support them with ideas that can help the country move forward,” he added.

Mustapha, who is also the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Agriculture, stressed that leaders cannot succeed without the support of the people. He stressed the importance of constructive engagements by sharing innovative solutions to the problems facing the country.

He noted that in any democratic system, the functions of political leaders were fixed-term and there was no point in distracting them with destructive criticism.

“Until their term expires, they remain in office, and their decisions, good or bad, have a profound impact on the entire nation.

“Whether we like it or not, leaders hold fixed-term positions and until they complete their term, they remain in office.

“And as long as they are in office, any decision made, good or bad, has an impact on all of us,” he stressed.

In conclusion, Mustapha reiterated the importance of supporting leaders in their efforts to address current challenges, rather than criticizing them destructively. In these difficult economic times, it is crucial that Nigerians come together and offer support to help resolve the issues facing the country.
