In the Sake region, located in the province of North Kivu in the Democratic Republic of Congo, the inhabitants of Lutobogo were once again victims of M23 bombings this Sunday, January 28, 2024. Two bombs were dropped, one near the the old building of the official Institute and another near the Lutobogo river towards the village of Murambi.

Fortunately, no casualties were reported because the bombs fell in empty fields, without human presence. These bombings come the day after several other attacks, where six bombs hit the towns of Mubambiro and Sake, causing the death of a 12-year-old girl and injuring four other people.

These attacks follow clashes between M23 rebels and Wazalendo resistance fighters in the Karuba and Misekera region, in Masisi territory. The situation remains tense in this area where clashes are increasing.
