Sports news: The Leopards of the DRC ready to face the pharaohs of Egypt
A few hours before the decisive match between the Leopards of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and the Pharaohs of Egypt during the round of 16 of the 34th edition of the African Cup of Nations (CAN) in Ivory Coast, DRC coach Sébastien Desabre expressed his confidence during his press conference last Saturday.
Sébastien Desabre notably stressed that his players will be difficult to play against Egypt, a team which already has seven African championship titles. He said: “Competing against Egypt makes my team grow. I believe the first step has been taken, now we will show everyone that Congo is back. You know our strengths and weaknesses, but What’s certain is that we’re going to be difficult to play against tomorrow.”
Both teams are undefeated since the start of the competition and this match will be an opportunity for them to stand out. Interestingly, in the five head-to-head encounters between Egypt and the DRC, Egypt won three matches, while the DRC won one and one match ended in a draw.
This meeting promises to be thrilling and to thrill the supporters of both camps. The DRC Leopards will be keen to show their determination and create a surprise by eliminating one of the favorite teams in the competition.
