“Pact for a Congo Found: A risky political mega-platform threatening the unity of the Sacred Union”

Title: Pact for a Congo Found: a politically risky mega-platform for the Sacred Union

Introduction :
The creation of a new mega-political platform called “Pact for a Congo Found” within the Sacred Union has sparked strong reactions. Within the AFDC, Modeste Bahati’s party, this initiative raises fears of a possible breakup of the Head of State’s political family. While the Sacred Union was expected to be a united political force, the emergence of a new platform could create divisions within the regime. This article explores the potential consequences of this creation and calls for caution to preserve the political unity of the Nation.

The risk of subdivision within the Sacred Union:
The country’s recent history reminds us of the risks of political subdivision within a regime. Under the FCC-CACH era, two political platforms coexisted, one led by President Félix Tshisekedi and the other by former President Joseph Kabila. This division had notable consequences on the political cohesion of the country. Today, with the creation of the “Pact for a Congo Found”, the Sacred Union risks experiencing the same fate. This fragmentation could weaken the political force initially formed to support President Tshisekedi in realizing his vision for a stronger, united and prosperous DRC.

The call for caution and unity:
Faced with this situation, Yvon Yanga, executive of the AFDC, advises the important political actors of the Sacred Union to let President Tshisekedi be the sole master on board. He warns against independent political initiatives which could create disparities and compromise the unity of the Sacred Union. To preserve political harmony and avoid divisions, it is essential that all the major political actors of the Sacred Union unite behind the leadership of President Tshisekedi.

The composition of the “Pact for a Congo Found”:
Currently, the political grouping “Pact for a Congo Found” has 101 national deputies and 125 provincial deputies within the Sacred Union. This platform is made up of four political groupings members of the Sacred Union: Action of the Allies and Union for the Congolese Nation (A/A-UNC) of Vital Kamerhe, Alliance of Actors Attached to the People (AAAP) of Tony Kanku Shiku, Alliance Bloc 50 (A/B50) of Julien Paluku and Coalition of Democrats (CODE) of Jean-Lucien Busa. Although these political groupings share certain common objectives with the Sacred Union, their decision to form a separate platform raises questions about the cohesion of the regime.

Conclusion :
The creation of the “Pact for a Congo Found” within the Sacred Union is a risky political initiative which could compromise the unity and cohesion of President Tshisekedi’s political family. To preserve political harmony and the effectiveness of the Sacred Union, it is important that all major political actors come together behind the leadership of the President. Only strong and united collaboration will make it possible to realize the vision of a stronger, more united and more prosperous DRC in the heart of Africa.
