“Crucial international aid arrives in Gaza to support residents and alleviate humanitarian difficulties”

The arrival of aid trucks in the Gaza Strip via the Rafah border was announced by the Egyptian authorities in North Sinai. According to an official source, this aid, provided by several Egyptian parties, includes food, medicines, medical supplies and relief materials. This operation was coordinated with the Egyptian Red Crescent, its Palestinian counterpart and the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees.

The Rafah border also received 132 people holding Egyptian passports and seven people holding Omani passports. In addition, 20 injured people from hospitals in the Gaza Strip were transferred for treatment to Egyptian hospitals.

The head of the Egyptian Red Crescent branch in North Sinai, Khaled Zayed, said that Arish International Airport continues to receive planes carrying aid provided by Arab and foreign countries, as well as by regional and international organizations.

Recently, five planes landed at Arish airport, carrying different forms of aid. The first plane, from Saudi Arabia, carried 25 tonnes of aid, the second plane, from the United Arab Emirates, carried five tonnes, the third plane, from Pakistan, carried 20 tonnes, the fourth plane, from Iraq, carried 18 tons, and the fifth plane, also from Iraq, carried 13 tons.

According to Zayed, since October 12, 370 planes have landed at Arish International Airport, carrying around 11,500 tons of aid from 35 Arab and foreign countries, as well as 15 regional and international organizations. This aid consists of humanitarian supplies, medicines, medical equipment, foodstuffs, tents and equipped ambulances.

This initiative demonstrates the importance of international solidarity towards the Gaza Strip, which has faced humanitarian difficulties for many years. The assistance provided by Egypt and other actors is essential to supporting the people of Gaza and providing them with the resources needed to address the challenges they face.

However, it is crucial to emphasize that humanitarian aid can only be a temporary solution. To achieve real improvement in the situation in Gaza, it is necessary to find a lasting political solution that ends the conflicts and guarantees the security, development and fundamental rights of all residents of the region. This emergency assistance is an important first step, but additional efforts are needed to create a better future for Gaza.
