Avenue Bypass in Kinshasa: a worrying state of deterioration
Avenue Bypass, connecting the Ngaba roundabout to the Righini entrance to Kinshasa, is currently in an advanced state of degradation. This important communication route is dotted with potholes and littered with rubbish, which not only creates discomfort for users, but also generates nauseating odors.
This road section is of great strategic importance, given that it is used daily by many heavy goods vehicles coming and going from Matadi. However, due to the deplorable state of Bypass Avenue, some of these trucks are forced to use other diversion routes such as University Avenue and Virunga Park Avenue. Unfortunately, these roads are not designed to support such heavy traffic, leading to traffic jams and traffic paralysis in these areas.

This worrying situation is not limited to this avenue alone, as heavy goods vehicles fall back on other roads, such as the UPN road and Liberation Avenue towards Selembao, thus causing additional damage.
It is therefore urgent to take measures to quickly rehabilitate Bypass Avenue in order to resolve the problems that its degradation causes. If no action is taken, this risks gradually disrupting all access to the Congolese capital from the west of the country.
It is essential that the competent authorities react effectively and quickly to avoid further deterioration of the road network in this sensitive area of Kinshasa. Improving road infrastructure will not only help facilitate the movement of citizens, but also develop the economy by ensuring better transport of goods.
