The tourist activity of hot air balloon flights began in Luxor in 1988, at the initiative of British pilots working for the British company Virgin. In 1994, the first hot air balloon companies were created with Egyptian capital and skills.
Today, 14 balloon companies operate daily flights in Luxor, offering flights at different times of the day and no longer just early in the morning.
