“The elections in the DRC: the CENI is moving forward with determination for a transparent and reliable electoral process”

From conception to completion, the holding of elections in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) arouses more and more confidence and hope among the Congolese population. The Independent National Electoral Commission (CENI) continues to scrupulously follow its electoral calendar and preparations are well underway.

Currently, the president of the CENI, Denis Kadima, is traveling to Seoul in South Korea to supervise the finalization of the production of electoral materials ordered from the Korean company Miru System. The objective is to equip the CENI with suitable equipment, in particular the Electronic Voting Device (DEV), in view of the elections scheduled for December 20, 2023 in the DRC.

Once arrived in Seoul, Denis Kadima immediately met with Miru System managers to assess the work accomplished so far. The collaboration between the CENI teams and the Korean company was intense and the president declared himself satisfied with the results obtained. The electoral materials, including DEVs and ballot papers, are already ready and just waiting to be shipped to the DRC.

Once the material is received, the CENI plans to distribute it both in Kinshasa and in the provinces, in order to ensure effective deployment. Denis Kadima emphasizes that despite the complex logistics linked to the size of the country, the CENI has the experience and means necessary to meet this challenge.

He also wishes to reassure the Congolese population that the elections will be held within the constitutional deadlines. According to him, the date of December 20, 2023 is set and the CENI is working tirelessly to achieve this objective. He invites the Congolese to trust the concrete actions of the CENI and to actively prepare to participate in the combined elections.

The determination of the Independent National Electoral Commission is undeniable, and it intends to be part of the solution to guarantee transparent, democratic and legitimate elections in the DRC. The organization of this fourth electoral cycle marks significant progress in the consolidation of Congolese democracy and the expression of popular will.

In conclusion, despite the doubts that may have existed regarding the holding of elections in the DRC, the CENI continues its work with rigor and professionalism to ensure a transparent and reliable electoral process. The production of electoral materials is underway and distribution will soon begin, a concrete sign of the progress of the electoral process in the DRC. The date of December 20, 2023 is set, and the Congolese population is called upon to mobilize to take part in these crucial elections for the future of the country.
