“Free training: the DRC launches a cohort of young digital talents to stimulate the country’s digital transformation”

Launch of the first cohort of free training for young people in the digital profession thanks to the partnership between the Belgian Development Agency (Enabel), Kadea Academy, Vodacom and Silikin Village. This initiative aims to train 90 young people in 12 months and facilitate their professional integration at the end of the training.

According to Jean-Louis Mbaka, director of Kadea Academy, this training cohort focuses on the professions of developers and digital marketing specialists. He also emphasizes that this partnership is a continuation of a previous successful collaboration between Enabel and Kadea, where 30 young people were trained in digital marketing.

The Kin-Employment and Training-Entrepreneurship-Employment (F.E.E) project manager at Enabel, Emmanuelle Henderyckx, explains that this partnership aims to establish a permanent dialogue with companies in order to better understand their economic needs and to ensure a match between training and employment. She also emphasizes that this partnership extends over two years and will allow the training of 1,000 young people, half of whom are women.

The partnership between Enabel, Kadea Academy, Vodacom and Silikin Village includes four parts. First of all, the launch of professional training for 90 young people in digital professions, with support for job searches. Then, the animation of a digital space to improve basic digital skills. The third component concerns support for accelerating entrepreneurs to promote the digital transformation of their business. Finally, the partnership aims to create a platform/ecosystem bringing together digital players to better understand the needs of young people in terms of digital skills.

Kadea Academy is a professional training center for digital professions in the DRC, which offers intensive courses in digital marketing and web & mobile development. Inclusivity is a fundamental value of the academy, which aims to make training accessible to all Congolese talents.

This free training project for young people in the digital profession constitutes a unique opportunity for young Congolese to train and access jobs in the booming digital sector. Thanks to this partnership between Enabel, Kadea Academy, Vodacom and Silikin Village, the DRC will be able to strengthen its digital skills and contribute to the digital transformation of the country.
