Paul-David Olangi inaugurated president of the Congo Revival Church in a historic ceremony

Paul-David Olangi installed as president of the Congo Revival Church (ERC) replacing Dodo Kamba

In a landmark event for the Congolese religious community, Paul-David Olangi was officially sworn in as president and legal representative of the Congo Revival Church (ERC). This appointment comes following the dismissal of Pastor Dodo Kamba by the founding fathers of the Church. The investiture ceremony took place in the presence of the Bishops and the founding fathers of the ERC, Albert Kakienza, Pascal Mukuna and Ejiba Ya Mampia.

The dismissal of Dodo Kamba was motivated by several reasons, including falsification of the statutes, insults to the founders, cronyism, demagoguery, greed and misappropriation of Church resources. Albert Kakienza highlighted these reasons during the ceremony, saying that trust in Dodo Kamba had been lost.

Speaking at his inauguration, Paul-David Olangi called for a consensus between the founding fathers to guarantee better governance of the Congo Awakening Church. He expressed his determination to promote the gospel of Jesus Christ across the country, while insisting on upholding the statutory objectives of the ERC established by the founders.

It is important to emphasize that this transition at the head of the ERC took place in a context of contestation on the part of Dodo Kamba, who continues to claim his legitimacy as president of the Church. He contests the regularity of the procedure for his replacement and refuses to recognize the authority of Paul-David Olangi.

Despite this situation, the new president of the ERC affirmed his desire to work in collaboration with the established authorities to ensure the proper functioning of the Church. He also stressed the importance of maintaining the integrity of the ERC’s founding statutes and said he would not accept any changes without the consensus of all the founding fathers.

This investiture marks a turning point in the history of the Congo Awakening Church and raises many questions about the future of this religious institution. The next few months will undoubtedly be crucial for Paul-David Olangi and the ERC, who will have to face the challenges of management and governance while preserving the integrity of the Church and continuing to spread their spiritual message to across the country. The ERC faithful are impatiently waiting to see how this new management will respond to these challenges.
