Clashes between the armed forces of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and M23 rebels continue to rage in the North Kivu region. The FARDC was ordered to continue observing the ceasefire, but Rwandan military reinforcements from the M23 recently dropped bombs in the ceasefire zone, prompting the Congolese army to defend itself once moreover.

The situation remains tense in the region, with population and motorcycle movements blocked between Goma and Rutshuru. However, in other areas the situation is calm. It is even reported that the M23 rebels have withdrawn from Birambizo/Bukombo and that they are planning a meeting with the local population in the town of Kitshanga.
