Joint PNC-FARDC parade in Tshikapa: reinforced security in the Kasai province
The Kasai province is facing growing insecurity, with an increase in killings, robberies and other criminal acts perpetrated by unidentified armed individuals. To deal with this worrying situation, the Divisional Commissioner of the Congolese National Police (PNC) in the province, General Sylvano Kasongo Kitenge, organized a joint PNC-FARDC (Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of Congo) parade in Tshikapa, capital of the province.
During this parade, General Kasongo recalled the main mission of the police, which is to protect the population and its property. He stressed the importance of remaining vigilant and ensuring that we accomplish this mission with devotion and professionalism. This mixed parade was also an opportunity for the police and the army to strengthen their collaboration with the aim of guaranteeing the security of citizens.
General Kasongo also announced the start of the recruitment of new police officers, on the instructions of Head of State Félix Tshisekedi. This recruitment aims to strengthen the police force and improve security in the Kasai province. Applicants must be aged 18 to 30 and must meet the selection criteria established by the authorities.
This initiative aims to combat growing insecurity and restore public confidence in the security forces. By strengthening police numbers and intensifying cooperation with the army, General Kasongo and his teams hope to put an end to the violence plaguing the region.
The joint PNC-FARDC parade in Tshikapa is therefore a strong signal of the commitment of the Congolese authorities to ensuring the security of citizens. However, this is a first step and it will be important to closely monitor the developments of this initiative and the concrete actions that will be taken to combat insecurity in the Kasai province. Security is an essential issue for the development of the country and it is essential to create a safe and stable environment to allow populations to live in complete peace.
It is hoped that this mixed parade will be the start of a real mobilization of Congolese security forces to face insecurity and protect the population. Collaboration between the police and the army, as well as the recruitment of new police officers, are promising initiatives that could help restore peace and security in Kasai province. The population is now waiting for concrete actions and tangible results to regain the tranquility and serenity that they deserve.
