The explosion at Al-Ahli hospital in Gaza: controversy over the causes and call for a thorough investigation

The explosion which struck Al-Ahli hospital in Gaza on October 17 continues to raise many questions. While Hamas accuses Israel of bombing the health facility, the Israeli military says the explosion was caused by a deflected rocket fired by Islamic Jihad.

The images broadcast online allow us to reconstruct the events. A video filmed from the Zeitoun neighborhood in Gaza shows a rocket veering off course before exploding. Five seconds later, a first explosion occurred on the ground, followed by a second explosion hitting Al-Ahli hospital. The solar panels placed on the roofs of the establishment make it possible to locate it and confirm that it is indeed this explosion.

Other videos taken from different angles confirm these images. We can see the hospital on fire, charred cars and numerous inanimate bodies, some mutilated or burned, in the courtyard of the establishment.

The next day, new images show the damage caused by the explosion. Burned cars, debris and clothes litter the ground. We can also observe a small crater with a diameter of approximately one meter.

Despite these elements, controversy persists as to the true causes of the explosion. Hamas continues to accuse Israel, while the Israeli army supports the thesis of the deflected rocket of Islamic Jihad. No definitive conclusions can be drawn from the images available at this stage.

This situation highlights the importance of conducting thorough and objective investigations to determine responsibility for such tragedies. In a conflict context, it is essential to be able to establish the facts impartially in order to avoid political manipulation and guarantee justice for victims.

While awaiting the results of the investigations, it is crucial to remain vigilant in the dissemination and interpretation of information, based on credible and verified sources. Transparency and objectivity are essential elements in achieving a fair and balanced understanding of events.
