Congolese women are mobilizing to confront violence and promote solidarity. Under the initiative of the Dénise Nyakeru Tshisekedi Foundation, the Youth Coordination organized the first edition of the 100% women’s Gala evening, aiming to strengthen the bonds of sorority and solidarity between women in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
This Gala evening brought together more than 500 women from different social strata, coming from inside and outside the country. The objective was to help women in the eastern part of the country, victims of the armed conflicts raging in the region.
Chantal Yelu Mulop, coordinator of the specialized service of the Head of State in charge of youth, fight against gender-based violence, took advantage of this opportunity to plead in favor of Congolese women victims of discrimination and injustice. She affirmed that actions would be taken to influence the decisions of public authorities in favor of this cause.
The First Lady’s representative, Kathy Massoulis, also spoke at the event. She called for the unity of women to strengthen their collective strength. According to her, there is strength in unity and it is time to unite to regain the dignity of Congolese women.
National MP Christelle Vuanga praised the bravery and excellence of Congolese women. She encouraged the initiative of the organizers and highlighted the potential of Congolese women, inviting better cooperation between them.
This 100% women’s Gala evening aimed to promote positive masculinity within Congolese society, to organize exchanges between Congolese women from different sectors and foreign women living in the DRC, and to highlight the talents of women in different entrepreneurial disciplines.
This initiative demonstrates the commitment of Congolese women to face the challenges that affect them, and to strengthen the bonds of solidarity between them. It is essential to support these actions and highlight the talents and potential of Congolese women. Together, they can work for a better and more equal future.
