Hamas terrorist attacks continue to spread terror across the region, this time affecting Kibbutz Be’eri in Israel. During the attack which took place on October 7, 2023, around a hundred kibbutz residents were killed and several others were kidnapped, including ten members of the family of Annalee Milstein, a resident of Be’eri who was not there that day.
The day started off dramatically for Annalee and her husband, when they realized an attack was in progress. Unfortunately, they were unable to contact their family who were there. The messages they received were terrifying, describing gunshots, screams and an atmosphere of terror. Since 11:20 a.m. this Saturday, they have no longer had any contact with their kidnapped loved ones.
Among the ten family members kidnapped, there are three children: Yahel, aged 3, Naveh, aged 8, and Noam, aged 12. These children were gathered for the holidays and do not generally reside in Kibbutz Be’eri.
Annalee remains hopeful about her family’s fate, believing they are still alive and have been taken to Gaza. In addition to testimonies from people claiming to have heard about the kidnapping, a video was received showing their family’s house burned, but no body was found. Additionally, family members’ cell phones were traced to Gaza. Despite the difficulties, Annalee and her husband are fighting to find their loved ones and hope to be able to bring them home.
This attack had a devastating impact on the community of Kibbutz Be’eri. More than 100 people have lost their lives and many more are missing. Annalee highlights the lack of support from authorities and calls for help to find her family members and bring them home.
We will continue to monitor this situation closely and hope that peace can be restored to the region.
