The youth of Beni are committed to the culture of peace
In the Beni region, in North Kivu, in the Democratic Republic of Congo, the culture of peace is at the heart of the concerns of the NGO Young Patriotic People for the Consolidation of Peace (JPCP). As part of an awareness campaign, this organization aims to encourage young people in the region to become active agents of peace.
The campaign, which took place over three days, was launched by Benjamin Asimoni, president of the JPCP. The main objective is to change perceptions and encourage a new generation who does not see peace only as the absence of war, but as a factor of life based on forgiveness, reconciliation and mutual respect.
During the first day of the campaign, students at Mututulo Primary School were made aware of key values such as tolerance, reconciliation, forgiveness and peaceful cohabitation. Young participants were encouraged to resolve problems through dialogue and avoid violence. They were also invited to become ambassadors of peace in their respective communities.
This initiative aims to unlock the potential of young people as agents of change and create a culture of lasting peace. By raising awareness among younger generations of the importance of peace and the peaceful resolution of conflicts, the JPCP hopes to contribute to the creation of a more harmonious and peaceful Beni.
The awareness campaign among young people in Beni on the culture of peace is a laudable initiative that deserves to be welcomed. By encouraging young people to cultivate tolerance, forgiveness and peaceful coexistence, this campaign contributes to building a better future for the region. It is essential to raise awareness among young people about the importance of peace and encourage them to be agents of positive change. Hopefully this initiative will inspire other communities around the world to follow this example and promote the culture of peace.
