The renovation of primary schools is a major challenge in guaranteeing quality education for students. It is with this in mind that the Japanese embassy in the DRC signed a donation contract with primary school 6 Makaya, located in the commune of Kimbanseke.
This renovation project is part of the non-repayable aid for small local projects in the DRC. The aim is to repair the existing school buildings and construct two new buildings, each comprising 3 classrooms, offices and latrines. In addition, educational equipment will also be provided to improve the working conditions of teachers and facilitate student learning.
The Japanese Ambassador to the DRC, Minami Hiroyuki, highlighted the importance of this project in his speech at the signing ceremony. He recalled Japan’s commitment to supporting the Congolese economy and supporting initiatives aimed at improving education. Principal of Makaya Primary School 6, Margo Mangwa, expressed her gratitude to the ambassador and all those who contributed to making this project a reality. She also underlined the importance of this renovation for the training of students, particularly in the context of free education in the DRC.
This initiative to renovate primary schools is a real step forward for education in the DRC. It will improve the working conditions of teachers and provide a framework conducive to student learning. Thanks to this donation contract from Japan, primary school 6 Makaya will be able to benefit from a complete renovation of its infrastructure and thus contribute to the human security of the Kinshasa population.
