Raising awareness and empowering women and girls: an essential mission for the Chris Ngal Foundation
In a society where the rights of women and girls are still too often neglected, it is vital to carry out awareness campaigns to promote their empowerment and gender equality. It is with this in mind that the Chris Ngal Foundation is committed, with the support of the gender section of MONUSCO, to raising awareness among more than 20 women and young girls about their various rights.
The themes addressed during this campaign are varied and cover essential areas such as early marriage, gender-based violence, gender equality, reproductive and sexual health, political participation and financial empowerment. These topics were chosen after in-depth research by experts in women’s rights.
The objective of this campaign is twofold: to raise awareness among women and girls about their rights and to encourage a change in attitude and behavior towards them. By organizing workshops and raising awareness on a large scale, the Chris Ngal Foundation wants to reach as many women and girls as possible to inform them and encourage them to claim their rights.
But the awareness-raising actions do not stop there. The Chris Ngal Foundation also plans to intervene in schools and universities in order to educate young girls about women’s rights from a very young age. By raising awareness from a young age, it is possible to build a more egalitarian society and give women the tools they need to reach their full potential.
This awareness campaign led by the Chris Ngal Foundation is essential to change mentalities and fight against gender discrimination. By enabling women and girls to become aware of their rights and encouraging them to claim them, we contribute to building a more just and egalitarian society.
It is therefore necessary to support and promote this type of initiative, in order to continue to progress towards a society where women and girls can fully flourish, by exercising their rights and actively participating in the construction of our community. Awareness and empowerment are the keys to change, so let’s work together to make equality a reality.
