The “Bosangani” International Dance Festival in Kinshasa is back for its 3rd edition. This year, under the theme of “Kin la Belle”, the cultural event promises a week rich in artistic performances and cultural exchanges.
The festival, initiated by Congolese dancer and choreographer Jolie Ngemi Reymond, residing in Switzerland, brings together artists and dance groups from the DRC and other foreign countries. It takes place in different locations in the city, such as the basketball court on 7th Street Limete, the residence of the Swiss ambassador, the Mozart café, the Espace Ntongo Elamu and the Adi field.
The program includes workshops and masterclasses, where dancers will have the opportunity to perfect their skills and exchange with international professionals. Hip hop dance group battles will also be organized, offering a real artistic competition. Spectators will also be able to enjoy outdoor performances, concerts and various shows.
But the festival goes beyond simple artistic representation. Constructive debates and testimonies will enrich the activities, allowing participants to reflect on the issues of dance and culture in society.
The 3rd edition of the “Bosangani” International Dance Festival was officially launched during a press conference in the residence of the Swiss ambassador to the DRC. Chasper Sarott, Swiss ambassador, welcomed the initiative and encouraged the festival director to continue this great adventure.
This “Bosangani” International Dance Festival thus offers a unique platform for Congolese and international dancers to meet, inspire each other and promote cultural diversity through dance. This is an event not to be missed for all lovers of dance and culture in Kinshasa.
