“The Paris Techno Parade: 25 years of electrifying rhythms and limitless partying”

The Paris Techno Parade: 25 years of celebrating electronic music

Saturday afternoon, Paris vibrated to the rhythm of the Techno Parade, a grandiose celebration that has celebrated electronic music for 25 years now. Tens of thousands of fans gathered on Place de la Bastille to take part in this iconic event.

The kick-off was given at 3:30 p.m. with an open-air dancefloor which transformed the Place de la Bastille into a veritable open-air discotheque. The rhythms of all trends of techno resonated in the speakers of the 16 floats which took part in the parade. The colorful and lively procession then paraded through the streets of Paris to reach the Place de la Nation at the end of the day.

The Paris Techno Parade was created in 1998 and since then it has continued to gain popularity. Last year, more than 250,000 people participated in this event which highlights the diversity and vitality of electronic music.

This year again, the Techno Parade attracted renowned DJs such as La Fessée, Maud Geffray and RAG. Collectives like Heretik System and Barbi(e)turix also made their contribution by enlivening the floats with their energetic and catchy music.

It is interesting to note the evolution of the perception of electronic music over the years. In its early days, techno was often demonized and misunderstood. Today, it enjoys growing recognition and is accepted as a musical genre in its own right.

This development is notably due to media figures such as Jack Lang, who attended the Love Parade in Berlin in 1998 and was inspired to create the Techno Parade in Paris. Since then, electronic music has captured the hearts of many amateurs and professionals, and has become a symbol of joy and pacifism.

Tommy Vaudecrane, president of Technopol, the organization which organizes the Techno Parade, is delighted with the success of this anniversary edition. He emphasizes that electronic music is no longer the subject of doubts and fears, but rather an area where talented professionals can flourish.

He also expresses his wish to see greater acceptance of “free parties” and teknivals, which are informal events where electronic music is celebrated in a spirit of freedom and sharing.

In summary, the Paris Techno Parade is an unmissable event for all fans of electronic music. This 25th edition shows how techno has evolved and established itself as a musical genre in its own right. Celebration, diversity and sharing are the key words of this event which attracts an ever-increasing audience each year.
