Introduction :
Isiro, capital of the Haut-Uélé province in the Democratic Republic of Congo, is experiencing positive changes to improve access to drinking water. Thanks to the initiative of the “Nanou Sadiki Lola” Foundation, the city is gradually equipped with drinking water fountains, thus making it possible to fight against diseases linked to poor water quality. In this article, we will discover the actions implemented by the Foundation and the impact that this has on the daily life of the inhabitants of Isiro.

The challenge of access to drinking water in Isiro:
The town of Isiro has been facing problems with access to drinking water for years. The current installations, managed by Regideso, are dilapidated and do not provide a regular supply of drinking water to the population. This situation is detrimental to the health of residents, who often have to travel long distances to find drinking water.

The intervention of the “Nanou Sadiki Lola” Foundation:
Aware of this problem, the “Nanou Sadiki Lola” Foundation has committed to financing the drilling of five drinking water fountains for an amount of $45,000 in Isiro. This initiative aims to improve access to drinking water and reduce the risk of water-borne diseases in the region.

The first concrete results:
The drilling work for the first fountain, located in the Madulunga cell of the Mammbaya commune, has already been completed, and the team is currently moving to the Sainte-Anne cell in the Kupa commune to continue the work. The next sites to benefit from these fountains will be Aketi Street, Mendambo, the Kolu cell and the Kinkole district.

Nanou Sadiki Lola’s commitment:
Nanou Sadiki Lola, a native of Isiro, is determined to support her community by relieving the difficulties it faces. The philanthropist expresses her desire to continue to intervene and support the development of her hometown as much as possible.

Conclusion :
The initiative of the “Nanou Sadiki Lola” Foundation for the installation of drinking water fountains in Isiro is excellent news for the population. Thanks to these efforts, access to drinking water becomes easier and the health of residents is preserved. This is a step forward towards improving living conditions in this region of the Democratic Republic of Congo. Let us hope that other similar initiatives can also see the light of day in other disadvantaged regions, to ensure everyone has access to vital resources such as drinking water.
