The Paris Techno Parade: 25 years of electro music celebrating!

The Paris Techno Parade, an essential event on the electro scene, celebrated its 25th anniversary this year. Tens of thousands of fans gathered in the streets of the capital to take part in this great parade, a true showcase of electronic music.

The kick-off was given on the Place de la Bastille, transformed for the occasion into an open-air discotheque. To the sound of different techno trends, participants were able to dance and have fun on this open-air dancefloor. The procession of 16 floats and their sound systems then headed towards the Place de la Nation, bringing with them a delirious crowd.

Since its creation in 1998, the Techno Parade has enjoyed growing success, bringing together more than 250,000 people last year. She played an essential role in the democratization and recognition of electronic music in France. Indeed, 25 years ago, techno was still demonized and unknown to the general public. Today, it has become a real social phenomenon, bringing together entire generations in a joyful and peaceful atmosphere.

Among the artists present during this anniversary edition, we find emblematic names of the electro scene, such as La Fessée, Maud Geffray and RAG, DJ and artistic director of the queer and feminist collective Barbi(e)turix. Each float in the parade represented a collective or movement from the underground scene, thus showing the diversity and richness of this musical universe.

Tommy Vaudecrane, the president of Technopol, the organization in charge of the event, was delighted with the favorable weather and the festive atmosphere which reigned throughout the parade. He also expressed the hope that electronic music festivals would finally be considered in the same way as other music festivals.

In short, the Paris Techno Parade has, over the years, established itself as an unmissable event for fans of electronic music. She helped change the image of techno, going from marginalized to recognized and appreciated by the general public. This anniversary edition allowed us to celebrate these 25 years of passion and sharing, while opening new perspectives for the future of the electro scene.
