The Kinshasa Financial Center, an emblematic project of cooperation between the Democratic Republic of Congo and Turkey, is under construction and its inauguration is scheduled for December 2, 2023. This was announced by Turhan Mildon, the boss of the Turkish company Milvest, during a press briefing organized on the site in Kinshasa.
The Kinshasa Financial Center project, financed to the tune of $290 million by the Turkish government, includes the construction of 6 buildings, including a luxury hotel, as well as a 3,000 m2 fountain, the largest in the Central Africa, with a spectacular water jet system. In addition to the Financial Center, Milvest is also building a Congress Hall as well as office blocks for rental.
This major project currently employs nearly 3,000 people, including 1,800 Congolese and 1,200 Turks. Once completed, the Kinshasa Financial Center is expected to house the services of the Ministries of Finance and Budget, and become a major economic hub in the region.
It is also important to emphasize that all the infrastructure built belongs to the Democratic Republic of Congo, but that Milvest will manage the Marriott hotel for 49 years before handing it over fully to the Congolese state. Thus, the country will benefit from the income generated by the Financial Center, with the possibility of receiving monthly cash flow.
The inauguration of the Kinshasa Financial Center is therefore a highly anticipated event, which symbolizes cooperation between the DRC and Turkey, as well as the economic and urban development of Kinshasa. This project demonstrates the commitment of the two countries to strengthen their ties and promote the socio-economic development of the region.
In conclusion, the Kinshasa Financial Center represents a true symbol of cooperation and development for the Democratic Republic of Congo and Turkey. Its inauguration scheduled for December 2, 2023 will mark a new stage in the strengthening of economic ties between the two countries and in the transformation of Kinshasa into a major financial center in the region.
