“Support for women sellers in Kenge: The curfew pushed back in Kwango province”

News: Curfew pushed back in Kwango province to support Kenge sellers

In a gesture aimed at supporting women sellers in Kenge, Kwango province has decided to extend the curfew from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. This decision was taken by the provincial government with the aim of enabling women to sell their products, especially in downtown Kenge.

The provincial minister of justice and government spokesperson, Adelar Nkisi, explained that this measure was taken for social reasons. He thus wishes to allow families to live more peacefully and women sellers to continue their activities despite the difficult context that the region is going through.

This decision comes in a context of constant threat from Mobondo militiamen in Kwango province. Since May, these militiamen have sowed terror and caused the deaths of several people. The attacks also resulted in the displacement of more than 20,000 people, including 11 child victims of sexual violence.

The provincial government remains mobilized in the face of this situation. Recently, an arrest was made in Popokabaka territory. A militia leader was apprehended with the stripes of a deceased soldier, ammunition and an unconventional weapon. Unfortunately, the other members of his gang managed to escape.

Provincial authorities continue their efforts to ensure the safety of the population of Kwango. The extension of the curfew aims to provide specific support to women sellers, who play a crucial role in the local economy. It is essential to continue to support these courageous women, while fighting against the militias who threaten the peace and stability of the province.

In conclusion, the Kwango provincial government has decided to extend the curfew from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. in order to allow women sellers in Kenge to continue their activities. This measure aims to provide social and economic support to families in the region, while continuing to fight against militias who disrupt the security of the province. The situation remains tense, but the authorities are determined to ensure the safety and well-being of the population.
