Mbororo cow herders behind growing insecurity in Tshikapa

In the Kasai province, insecurity continues to rage and civil society coordination points the finger at Mbororo cow breeders. According to them, these breeders and their herds of cows are behind the increase in violent acts in the region. Since 1999 and 2020, these breeders have settled in the Kasai province, looking for pastures to feed their animals.

Civil society claims to have information according to which these breeders were responsible for atrocities in the province of Maï-Ndombe, in Kwamouth. Faced with this growing insecurity in Tshikapa and its surroundings, the coordination of civil society calls on the authorities to be vigilant and to take measures to put an end to this intolerable situation.

This situation raises concerns among the inhabitants of Tshikapa who see their peace and security threatened. Mbororo cow herders are accused of playing a major role in this growing insecurity, and it is essential that local authorities and security forces carry out thorough investigations to put an end to this scourge.

Calls are growing for the Congolese national police (PNC) and other security services to step up their efforts to ensure the safety of Tshikapa residents. The population can no longer live in fear and insecurity, so it is essential to take concrete measures to restore tranquility in the region.

It is now the responsibility of provincial authorities to put in place preventive and repressive measures to guarantee the safety of residents. Mbororo cow herders must be closely monitored and firm action taken to put an end to their alleged involvement in acts of violence.

The situation in Tshikapa is critical and requires urgent action. Residents of the region must no longer live in fear and insecurity caused by Mbororo cow herders. It is time for concrete measures to be taken to restore peace and ensure the safety of all.
