The MONUSCO delegation, made up of dedicated staff, visited three prison houses in Beni to support the detainees. Their generosity was demonstrated through the distribution of food such as rice, cassava flour, beans, vegetable oil, as well as hygiene kits for women. The detained children were not forgotten, games were provided to entertain them and support them psychologically.

The Mayor of Beni, Senior Chief Commissioner Jacob Nyofondo Te Kodale, warmly welcomed MONUSCO’s gesture, stressing that the UN mission is an essential partner for the community.
