“The General Inspectorate of Finance: an essential pillar of the recovery and good governance of COBIL SA”

The role of the General Inspectorate of Finance in the management of COBIL SA

In the business world, transparency and good governance are essential issues to ensure the sustainability and success of a company. It is with this in mind that COBIL SA, a State portfolio company, called on the General Inspectorate of Finance (IGF) to support it in its management.

Since June 2023, COBIL SA has benefited from the expertise of the IGF as part of a management mission. This newly formed management committee’s mission is to redress the financial balance of the company and implement a policy of good governance. It is with this in mind that the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Thierry Monsenepwo, requested continued support for the IGF from the Inspector General of Finance-head of department, Jules Alingete.

During the recent visit to the IGF, Monsenepwo expressed his appreciation for the fruitful work carried out by the IGF and highlighted the financial improvements seen since the start of the collaboration. He also demonstrated the full support of the management committee for the vision of the Head of State, who places good governance at the heart of his concerns.

For his part, Jules Alingete praised the dynamism of the new management team of COBIL SA and underlined the importance of maintaining this momentum to ensure the total recovery of the company. He stressed that the IGF plays a crucial role in the fight against embezzlement and financial embezzlement, scourges which plague public institutions in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

This collaboration between COBIL SA and the IGF is part of President Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi’s desire to promote transparency and good governance in the management of public companies. The mobilization of public revenues and the fight against anti-values are among the priorities of the IGF, which notably deploys its financial patrol to ensure rigorous control of the management of public finances.

In conclusion, the support of the General Inspectorate of Finance is a major asset for COBIL SA in its quest for financial recovery and good governance. Thanks to this collaboration, the company will be able to implement transparent and efficient practices, thus contributing to the economic development of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
