Godé Mpoyi Kadima, the current president of the Kinshasa Provincial Assembly, is in bad shape. Indeed, several provincial elected officials, including Mbonzi wa Mbonzi of the Mouvement de liberation du Congo -MLC, signed a motion for a resolution for the removal of the president of the Kinshasa Provincial Assembly for defamation, attack on the honor of the honorable provincial deputies of Kinshasa. , as well as for abuse of power in the exercise of his functions.
Provincial MP Mbonzi wa Mbonzi said Godé Mpoy’s gratuitous allegations of corruption among Kinshasa provincial MPs in a phone message sent to his colleagues are meant to smear their reputations ahead of the elections.
In addition, Godé Mpoy is also suspected of having abused his power in the case of vehicle credit contracted by the provincial elected officials of Kinshasa with Afriland First Bank. He is accused of having maneuvered to snatch the payroll from the bank in favor of manual payment at the level of the APK, and of not having reversed the fees withheld from the emoluments of the provincial deputies intended for the repayment of the debt. To date, reimbursement poses a serious problem at the risk of seeing provincial deputies lose their homes by July 26.
The General Inspectorate of Finance (IGF) is already seized of the file and the parliamentary assistants of the APK claim 19 months of arrears of premium to President Godé Mpoy.
A period of 48 hours was granted to Mpoy to explain himself to the provincial elected officials of Kinshasa. The fate of Godé Mpoy at the head of the Kinshasa Provincial Assembly will be known next Wednesday at the end of the plenary. The political situation in the DRC remains tense
